Miami Heat star, no, superstar, Bam Adebayo delivered one of the most remarkable scoring performances in NBA history on a random Tuesday night against the Wizards, erupting for 83 points in a stunning offensive showcase that has left fans and analysts across the league in disbelief.

Adebayo, known primarily for his defense, rebounding and playmaking, put together a career-defining night at the Kaseya Center. The big man dominated from the opening tip, scoring from all three levels, with an emphasis on scoring in the paint and getting to the free throw line as he had converted 36 out of 43 free throws. By halftime, Adebayo had already piled up 43 points, already getting fans all around the NBA to change the channel. As the game continued, Miami repeatedly fed their superstar big man, who continued scoring through double teams and physical defense.

The crowd erupted late in the fourth quarter when Adebayo surpassed the 81-point mark, placing him above the late-great Kobe Bryant. Growing up Bam constantly viewed Bryant as his idol, looking up to him and his mamba mentality as he pursued his dream of making the NBA. All of this makes it all the more emotional as the big man was seen crying with his mom after an all-out preformance for the city of Miami.

“Like I said, I wish I could relive it twice,” Adebayo told reporters. “So this is a special moment. Wilt, me and then Kobe — which sounds crazy.”

Teammates and coaches praised Adebayo’s composure and efficiency throughout the historic performance.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said Bam showed what he’s capable of offensively.

Three days after Dwyane Wade’s comments saying the city of Miami needs to be woken up, stating that it has no buzz, Bam responded, and showed the city what he's capable of.

While Adebayo has long been recognized as one of the league’s most versatile big men on the defensive end, Tuesday’s historic scoring explosion added a career and franchise-defining milestone to his now forever-growing legacy.

For Miami fans, it’s a night that will be remembered for years, the night Bam Adebayo delivered one of the greatest scoring spectacles the sport has ever seen.
