There are a lot of major movies expected to be released in 2026, but some stand out more than others. With sequels, spin-offs, and true stories coming to theaters, this year could be huge for movie fans. Here are the three movies I’m most excited for, ranked in order.
3. Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next installment starring Tom Holland, and fans have very high expectations for several reasons.
First, the trailer has already broken records, gaining over a billion views, which shows just how much hype there is even before its release. Second, the story continues after Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Peter Parker’s life was completely reset, leaving fans eager to see what happens next. Finally, many viewers are excited about the more emotional direction of the film, focusing on Peter’s struggles and personal growth rather than just action.
Because of all this, expectations are extremely high, and the movie could end up being one of the biggest of the year.
2. The Mandalorian & Grogu
My second pick is The Mandalorian & Grogu, a new movie set in the Star Wars universe.
This film continues the story from The Mandalorian, a show that many fans already love, meaning it has a strong and loyal fanbase behind it. Because of that, the movie has a great chance of being successful. If it keeps the same mix of action, humor, and adventure as the series, it could easily be one of the most fun and entertaining movies of the year.
1. Michael
My top pick is Michael, a biographical film about Michael Jackson, one of the most famous artists of all time.
As a musician, I’m a big fan of music biopics, and this one has the potential to be one of the biggest. I grew up as a huge fan of MJ, so I’m especially excited to see how the film portrays both his success and his struggles, as well as how the actor brings such a legendary performer to life.
Overall, 2026 looks like it could be an amazing year for movies, and these are the three I’m most excited to see.
