The Columbus Explorers concluded their regular season with a 30-7 victory over Miami Northwestern, relying on a balanced offensive execution and a resilient defensive performance.

Columbus established an early lead on the ground when running back Cecil Smith capped off an opening drive with a rushing touchdown up the middle, putting the Explorers ahead 7-0.

The Explorers expanded their advantage shortly after as wide receiver #2 Tony Brown III hauled in a touchdown pass to make it 14-0. Miami Northwestern answered back with a touchdown drive to narrow the margin to 14-7.

However, just before halftime, #12 A'javion Willis broke free on a slant route and took it to the house, extending Columbus's lead to 20-7 at the break.

In the third quarter, Columbus added to its lead with a successful field goal, moving the score to 23-7. Linebacker Kj Belamour recorded a sack to help stifle the Bulls' progress.

Moving into the fourth quarter, #10 Zacari Issac secured the final offensive blow on the ground with a touchdown run to bring the score to 30-7. Shortly after the final rushing touchdown, defensive back #1 A'mir Sears came up with a game-sealing interception, halting Northwestern's final hopes of a comeback and cementing the victory.

On the defensive end, defensive back #9 Tyler Tindal anchored an impressive coverage unit in the secondary throughout the contest. Tindal delivered a standout individual effort, recording three pass breakups and one interception. His disciplined technique limited downfield passing opportunities for Miami Northwestern, disrupting key drives and keeping the Bulls from building momentum through the air.

With the win, the Explorers finish the regular season with a 9-1 overall record and an undefeated 5-0 mark in division play. Columbus will now use the upcoming week to regroup, retool, and fine-tune their execution as they shift focus to the postseason run.
