During the 2026 F1 season, Kimi has been dominating in his Mercedes. There are several reasons why he is winning and is on the verge of becoming the youngest champion.

It is not often that a driver's second year driving in F1 can result in such frequent victories, but he has managed to achieve this due to having one of the best cars on the grid, a very aggressive driving style, and strong team support.

The Mercedes car (Silver Bullet) has been dominant, with both drivers consistently finishing in the top five in every race, allowing their driver to maintain a lead over the competition. Kimi almost has a 100-point lead over George Russell, his teammate in second place, and if Kimi wins the United States Grand Prix, he will be the world champion.

Kimi's driving style enables him to navigate corners at speeds 10 to 15 km/h faster than his teammate in races like Spa and Silverstone. Kimi employs sharp, rapid steering methods to shorten cornering radii, allowing him to maintain a faster speed than anyone else on the track.

Kimi’s team support has been instrumental in helping him navigate tough media criticism and periods of losses in many races when he is referred to as a star. Kimi faced pressure in his first year of F1 last season when people compared him to Senna due to his appearance, and his driving style reflects this with smart techniques and turning mechanics. However, Kimi’s team has supported him in every possible way by providing a stable environment to develop his speed.

We will see if Kimi can achieve the title of youngest F1 world champion at 20 years old by winning the United States Grand Prix and maintaining a steady gain in points in the following races.
