As the swim season reaches the midpoint, Columbus has shown impressive progress in and out of the pool. With standout performances through transfers and improved times, the team looks like they are going to end the season strong.

Jan Carlos Hernandez said, “So far it has been good, we have a good record, and hopefully we will improve it throughout the final half of the season.”

The team currently holds a record of 7-1, and they are going to compete in Ocala on October 3, 2025

Daniel Forrero said, “I feel like it is going to be a competition I can dominate in and should not be too much to stress.”

Standout Swimmers & Events:

  • David Guerra has been leading the team in 100 fly, swimming it at 55 seconds

  • Transfer Filippo Sidi has emerged as a key competitor in the 100 Free

  • Sophomore Marcel Cowey has also had an impressive journey in the season, swimming in the 200 relay.

Water Polo and Swim Join Forces

The Water Polo team players have recently joined forces with the swim team, as the Water Polo players are skilled swimmers, they have joined the swim team to not only improve the Water Polo team's swimming skills but to give the explorers a better shot at winning a state title in swim this year.

Looking Ahead

The Columbus swim team looks to have a bright future, whether it's in individual events or in relays. The explorers have something to prove this season, and it starts with their next meet, where the boys will have to travel up to Ocala to compete in the FAST Aquatics Center.

Francisco Vazquez said, “The season looks to have a good future and I think we can make it far in competition.”

This team truly displays the spirit of Brotherhood, with Water Polo players joining to help the swim team out, this combination of skills could push the team even further than their current 7-1 success. Only time will tell, but this team seems to be on track for great things.
